What are direct expansion (dx) intertwined coils?
Direct expansion (dx) intertwined coils are another form of evaporator coils, just with different circuitry. As opposed to separate, side-by-side circuits, in an intertwined coil circuits are woven together. Allowing for better air temp uniformity, better dehumidification, and higher efficiency. Regular DX coils are best for single stage cooling, whereas intertwined are used for multi-stage cooling and variable capacity cool.
